4th of July Weekend

I have never had a most exhausting and fun holiday weekend. It was jam packed with goodies.

It started with our local parade. I am a member of our towns' Junior Womens' Club. We decorated a float and walked in the parade with our families.

The kids had a blast through the first half of the parade...until they ran out of candy to throw. They got a bit excited and were whipping two or three pieces at a time at poor unsuspecting children. We had to limit the amount and limit the speed of which the candy was flying.

The next day we visited our carnival which was HOT. They did an amazing job with the rides, food and music.

Trinity found her new favorite ride, the swings.

Everett looks terrified on the slide which I assume he was. Once the shock wore off he was smiling.

Next night, hot air balloon launch in Lisle. Too bad it was too windy to launch them. The kids ran around a tree for an hour while we waited.

Finally they decided that it was too windy to get them in the air but they did manage to get a couple blown up on the ground so the crowd wouldn't riot.

Next night (July 3rd): we traveled a town over to see fireworks. It was the best show I have ever seen. Their schools might be overcrowded and a mess but their fireworks rocked.

For the actual 4th we had a BBQ at Eddies' parents house where the boys played in the dirt in between swimming in the pool.

The highlight of the weekend was the concert performed by Star Action aka Trinity and Ava. They made their own concert tickets and put on a performance. It was all original songs written by them over the weekend. Although shy, quiet and out of tune, it was great. Here is a preview of "possibility."
