Trinity turns 5!

We celebrated with lunch at American Girl!

I am overwhelmed as the prospect of compiling pictures and memories from the past year. I am having a hard time with her turning 5. I handled turning 30 much better! I will get organized and do it once I take some anxiety meds. :)

Her dress and her American Girl's dress is an Etsy find!

Special Delivery

I just love getting cute things in the mail.

1st Haircut

Reeve received his first haircut this past week. It was well needed. He wasn't thrilled but was easily distracted with cherrios. It helped that we did it in the comfort of our kitchen. Everett and Trinity also got much needed trimmy trim trims.

The day before..During... The next day. We dressed him in his best Lt. Dan gear to match his short hair.

Movie Night

We took a Friday night and made it a movie night to watch Where the Wild Things Are. We love the book and loved the movie. The night was complete with makeshift beds on the family room floor, popcorn, twizzlers and mostly cooperative children.

Have You Ever...

...seen bed head quite this impressive?

Photography by Everett

Maybe picture-taking runs in the family. Everett decided to occupy himself in the doctor's office during Reeve's visit with my camera. I laughed out loud once I reviewed the "film".

Uncle Jason

Dear Uncle Jason,
Thanks for being such a funny uncle. We have so much fun with you. I know you will be a daddy soon. I hope you have the sleep and energy to continue to be so goofy and so funny with us. Mama and Daddy just love how you get us so wild right before bed time. They think it is so funny! Reeve loves how you carry him around like a prince. No wonder he will only go by you. Thanks for taking silly pictures will us and making us laugh.
Love, Trinity and Everett

Huddle Up

The church we have been attending had a "Huddle-Up" night. It was an indoor tailgate geared toward family "huddle" time. All families dressed as teams. We made our own green team uniforms which Trinity and Everett had a blast making. The most creative team name we could think of are the "Green Beans" or the "String Beans!"

Peter Pan

Everett and Captain Hook
I took Trinity and Everett, and our neighbor Reese, to see Peter Pan at the Emerald City Theatre. This is our 2nd show we have seen there and absolutely loved it. If you have small kids, go. It is there until June 6th. I laughed out loud lots of times. Everett, surprisingly sat still long enough to enjoy it. There is an opportunity to get autographs and pictures with the cast after the show.

9 Months

Oh my gosh, my golly! Where does the time go? Reeve has been very busy. The last two weeks has brought us 2 new teeth (he now has 4), crawling and standing. Thankfully, the last month has brought us sleeping nights, FINALLY!
Reeve now sleeps from 8pm until 6:30 or 7:30 am. This has done wonders for my mood, my energy, my outlook on the day. He takes 2 naps a day. It is usually a rush to get home before he falls asleep in the car since dropping Trinity off at school and picking her up always seems to be at nap time.
Trinity and Everett crack him up. His face lights up when they come into the room. He prefers Mama over Daddy, or anyone else. He is still getting used to extended family, the church nursery and babysitters.
He claps his hands, waves bye and has mastered picking things up with his finger and thumb.
He has started table foods. He likes bread, pancakes, peas, puffs and cherrios. Eggs are in his future.
He is still tall and skinny. He went from being our heaviest to our lightest.
He is 20lb., 8 oz. (50% percentile)
He is 30in. long (95th percentile)

Trinity was 20 lb., 14 oz. and 28-1/4 in. at this age.
Everett was 21lb. 8oz. and 30in.

Baby Shower

Eddie and I hosted his sister's baby shower this past Saturday. It was the best shower I have been to in a long time. I just don't say that because I planned it but because I really enjoyed it. Not only that, she/they were blessed with so many people who truly love them and care for them and their new baby. They got everything they need and were able to sit back, enjoy and celebrate this wonderful blessing.
This is the most hilarious part of the shower. Trinity wanted to help decorate so she drew a picture. She told me she made a special picture of babies. When I asked what were the hooks over their heads she said it was "babies in the shower." This is her interpretation of "baby shower." I was cracking up!
On the top she wrote Auntie Coo Coo Baby Shower (she says Coo Coos instead of Jessica since she has been 2) along with words she is learning to write in school and home: up, cat, white, write.

Hoops

Trinity started basketball this past season. This combined with soccer has taken up quite a chunk of time. She says she likes basketball better than soccer because it is shorter. :) Her coach said she is the offensive weapon. Not only is she the tallest kid but she does have a mean "free-throw" and a good dribble. She will continue basketball in the Spring but take a break soccer until outdoor soccer starts in the Summer. Eddie will again be her soccer coach. For now, he gets a break too.
